BRIDES- info on NAME CHANGES

Brides- changing your name to adopt your husband's surname (or vice versa as some grooms are doing now!) is relatively easy provided you have obtained the registration marriage certificate from Births, Deaths & Marriages (ask me about this!). You take this to the RTA and Passports Australia to get new driver's license and passport and to banks etc where you need to have the new name noted. This is at no cost to you but requires some running around or sending certified copies of forms to insurance companies, Super Fund and other Authorities affected. You can also pay to get a kit that leads you through the process eg at www.afterthewedding.com.au and others.
